Last Thursday night, a bunch of us from AppLovin participated in the Light the Night Walk, an incredibly moving fundraising event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It began with hundreds of participants gathering in the AT&T Park parking lot for food and music. Since AppLovin was an event sponsor, we first met up at the AppLovin tent, and then from there we walked to the starting point in AT&T Park and then all along the Embarcadero, taking in the atmosphere, which was warm, loving, and inspiring.

Everyone participating in Light the Night gets an illuminated paper lantern of a different color: survivors carry white ones, supporters carry red ones, and gold ones are carried by those walking in memory of a loved one lost to cancer. At 7 pm, we all began our walk out of the park and north along the Embarcadero — it was such a beautiful procession, and I was honored to be a part of it.

For more than 60 years, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has worked to find cures and ensure access to treatment for blood cancer patients. According to the organization, approximately every three minutes one person in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer, and this year, an estimated total of 162,000 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma (bone marrow cancer).

At AppLovin, we’re proud to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s important work, and we encourage you to consider making a donation here.
