In the first quarter of 2023, AppLovin participated in numerous industry events, making strong connections with clients, prospects, and partners. In this blog, we’re highlighting some of the biggest Q1 events that are helping communicate and demonstrate all the people, trends, and initiatives that are driving the mobile industry forward.

Pocket Gamer Connects London (January 23-24, 2023)

PG Connects is a must-attend conference for mobile gaming professionals as the leading international conference series for the global games industry, covering the entire ecosystem from mobile, PC, and console to XR, blockchain, and web3 technology. At this event, the AppLovin and Adjust teams co-hosted several well-attended events, both to educate and to network and enjoy each other’s company. Our guest list included C-level executives, UA and monetization leads from gaming companies, and other industry partners.

David White, Senior Manager, BD, New Initiatives, said of the AppLovin and Adjust-hosted events, “They gather the most relevant people to our business to build relationships with new and existing partners; on top of that, it was a good time to catch up casually with partners.”

Mobile World Congress Barcelona (February 27 – March 2, 2023)

MWC Barcelona is the largest and most influential event in the world for the mobile technology ecosystem. It is an annual trade show organized by GSMA, dedicated primarily to the mobile communications industry. At this event, our team connected with clients and prospects inside and outside the conference venue. We held casual and business meetings, as well as co-hosted an attendee-packed happy hour with the Adjust team!

Simon Baptist, Director of Commerce Business, Array, shared some helpful advice for mobile businesses, “Happy Hours or similar large events are always great for building relationships with attendees who are engaged with your brand and more open to outreach.”

Global Traffic Conference (February 28 – March 1, 2023)

GTC is one of the largest and most comprehensive professional conferences in the Chinese internet industry ecosystem, committed to promoting industry products, services, technologies, and overseas investments. It was first held in Shenzhen in 2018, attracting 8,000+ elites from global games, international e-commerce, and investment circles. The number of participants in 2019 and 2020 exceeded 10,000.

It was once again hosted in Shenzhen, home to such prominent industry names as Tencent and Netease. Our BD folks were able to meet their clients in person and connect more meaningfully, either via meetings or private dinners.

Ada Hang, Sr. Director of Business Development at AppLovin, attended panels focused on the current state of integration in games and gameplay, new ideas for mobile game user acquisition, and how to create and utilize high-quality ad creatives along with the experts from Crazy Labs, Cyberclick, and Tianfu LTD.

Game Developers Conference (March 20-24, 2023)

GDC is the game industry’s premier professional and enthusiast event, championing game developers, large and small, and the advancement of their craft. This conference brings the game development community together for education, inspiration, and networking. Attendees include programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals, and business leaders. Our BD and Communications teams attended GDC for networking, client engagement, and staying current on industry trends. We mobilized across the city to meet with clients and prospects in various settings, such as coffee outside the event, office meetings, and our exclusive and attendee-packed GDC party, UnderApps.

An even more eventful 2023 lies ahead
